Wine Stories
The current chapter of my wine story has me wandering in a vineyard. I am not lost; I am captivated. I have come to appreciate that each vine – each wine – has its own story too. The vinegrower, the winemaker, even the soil and roots themselves, all blend together into stories worth telling. I hope to be a teller of those wine stories…even a teacher of them…along with guiding wine lovers through a taste of the harvests.
I have been an online storyteller, or educational content creator, for over a decade. When I began in online course design, the role of ‘instructional designer’ was just emerging. My work for graduate schools began with blended/hybrid courses, but soon evolved into fully online course development. By the time I earned my Master’s Degree in Learning Design and Technology at the University Colorado Denver (2021), instructional design was a critical part of every educational institution venturing into online classes.
Wine Education
Early in 2024, I decided to journey on a new path that led down a vineyard toward the wine industry. Still with a love for online learning, I hope to apply my instructional design experience toward finding new ways to tell the story of wine. I have completed WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) certification courses at Napa Valley Wine Academy to gain further knowledge and training in the world of wine. I am now WSET Level 2 Certified with Distinction with WSET Level 3 In Process.
